Tom had been District Governor of Rotary and was the District Foundation Chair when I began working with him. For reasons i never understood he called me one day and asked me to take on a district position dealing with a new grant program. I remember that the Foundation Committee met at his home. He was a mentor and inspiration to me in all things Rotary.
As the years passed, I got to know Tom and Joanne better. When Joanne became ill, I admired the way Tom supported and cared for her through thick and thin. The were a marvelous couple.
I will miss Tom a lot and will try to uphold the high standards he set in Rotary. My sympathy to his family.

The photo of Tom with a glass of wine is perfect and reminds me of the many events we attended for Rotary. We always enjoyed our glass of wine, and had an especially good time enjoying Cline Wine! I will miss his bright spirit, he wonderful sense of humor and his dedication to service above self. It is a great comfort to know that he knew God and has been welcomed home. Mr. Tom Cline was a friend of my parents, Lucy and Dick Thomson. My father was shot down over Hungry during WWII and spent months in a Hungarian hospital in a bed next to an injured Hungarian pilot. They became friends, in spite of being on opposite sides in the war, but lost contact when my dad was sent to a prison camp in Germany. Fifty years later on the 50th anniversary of D-day, through circumstances that I do not recall, Tom Cline discovered the Hungarian pilot and put him in touch with my dad. It was a moving reunion that brought out many stories that were new to all of us. My siblings, Morley, Chris, and Stewart, and I so appreciated Mr. Cline's efforts. Small acts add up to a large life. We extend our condolences to his large family and friends.

Helen Jo and family. Sorry for your loss. I knew Tom as a fellow St.Mary graduate and a social friend at the Saginaw Club. He graduated about 10 years before me but we had much in common. What a real class person he was. Always enjoyed our many give and take discussions at the Saginaw Club 5 o"clock Club. We will miss him. May he rest in peace.

Tom and Joanne were good friends with me and my late wife, Judy. Tom was always there for advice in my business dealings. The four of us spent a few days in Las Vegas investigating a company that I was interested in purchasing. We enjoyed the trip and I took his advise and walked away from the purchase.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Tom when I worked for Wickes; he was always upbeat. I later would occasionally run into him when I worked for the Public Libraries of Saginaw when was either gathering reading material or doing research at Hoyt Library. It was always nice to see him and to say hello. My condolences to his family and may special memories provide comfort to you.

Tom and I shared lunch many times as part of the Rotary Club of Saginaw - Downtown. I feel the picture chosen for this LIfe Tributes page perfectly summarizes him - smiling, gentle, friendly, sharing cheers... thanks Tom, for inspiring me to do more good.

Tom was a member of the honor guard as a member of I think the air force that marched in the parade opening the Mackinaw Bridge in June, 1958. He and the rest of the honor guard visited the William E. Crane cottage and shared the fun memories of activites of their visit to Mackinaw. I have fond memories of that and other events with the Cline family from early childhood, as dad was their lawyer and he took a big interest in Tom's becoming a lawyer.
