Obituary of Lucille M. Demers

Demers, Lucille M. of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Medilodge of Frankenmuth. She was 88 years old. Lucille M. Kleinfeld was born on September 11, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fred J. and Beulah I. (Frisby) Kleinfeld. She married Robert J. Church on January 14, 1961; he preceded her in death on January 27, 1968. Lucille later married Donald J. Demers on September 28, 1979; he preceded her in death on May 25, 1997. She had been employed by Michigan National Bank/Standard Federal Bank, retiring in 1993. Lucille was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Saint Mary's Hospital Foundation, and the St. Mary's Auxiliary. She also enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's Hospital, participating in many fundraisers and events. She will forever be remembered for her frank and candid opinions, her fierce independence and for her wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by two sisters and one brother: Beulah Poellet of Saginaw, Joyce Rick of Birch Run, Jerry (Kathleen) Kleinfeld of Birch Run, two sister-in-law: Shirley Kleinfeld of Mt. Morris and Sally Demers of Royal Oak; one good friend, Pat McCarthy of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Max Kleinfeld; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kleinfeld; and five brothers-in-law: Larry Demers, Lester (Connie) Demers, LeRoy Rick, Edwin Seder, and Arnold Poellet.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lucille will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the St. Mary's of Michigan Foundation or to St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church.
