The first time I met Aunt Edna was when she visited Chicago shortly after my Mom married her brother Don. I had just started fifth grade and had an assignment to find leaves and make a report on them. So we headed to nearby Jackson Park and spent time together on a beautiful fall day, a great and lasting memory. Over the years we were fortunate to gather in Chicagoland most years for Christmas and at least one or two other times during the year. She had a great sense of humor and her visits were always a pleasure. I know she treasured seeing the family, especially Don's son (my brother Brian and his dear wife Karen) and grandchildren, Amy and Katie. Brian and Karen took great care of Aunt Edna in latter years and I'm sure that brought her great comfort. May she rest in peace.

I remember Edna fondly from the years I served as Chaplain/Social Worker at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Edna visited her mother Evelyn faithfully every day and was such a loving daughter. She was a very positive person with a kind heart and a beautiful smile. May God comfort her family with happy memories and the assurance of Christ's resurrection victory.

Aunt Edna was a very special person in our lives. Her love for us was unconditional, as was ours for her. The memories of our dear Aunt will always keep us smiling and filled with happiness. May she now rest in peace. We love you Aunt Edna!!

My family (the Melvins) lived a few houses down on Emerson from Edna and her Mother. I remember going down to visit them a lot. Many great memories of Emerson St and sitting on the front porch. Such a lovely lady. I'm sure she will be missed.
