Obituary of David M. Ugartechea

Ugartechea, David M., of Saginaw, Michigan, our loving brother, uncle, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home. He was 72 years old. David Manuel Ugartechea was born on June 5, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Manuel and Terry (Garza) Ugartechea. Dave graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1963. He then enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, 1964-1968. Upon his honorable discharge, he went to SVSU and U of M to earn his Juris Doctorate degree. In 1980, he relocated to California and worked as a tax auditor for the IRS. Dave was a die-hard conservative, lived and breathed politics, and will best be remembered for being a "walking encyclopedia." Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Sally Tyler; two nephews: John (Kasaundra) Tyler and Michael (Krystina) Tyler; great-nephews: Johnny and Noah Tyler; one great-niece, Olyvia Tyler; and many other family members and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Ugartechea; and sister, Bea Ugartechea. FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Immediately following the service, military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the VFW #1859 and the United States Army. Chaplain Lori Becker will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Burial of cremated remains will follow at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to the Aleda E.
