Ron and I went to Zilwaukee School together. Ron was big for his age but never took advantage of smaller kids (such as me ;-) even when he was egged on by the "tough" kids at our little school. Later when I came home for family visits I would see Ron now and then and we always had great talks about the old days and what was happening now. Back when his daughter was just 9 or 10 we met at a St. Mathew's fish fry and Ron introduced me - with such pride it brought a huge smile to me as well. Yes, Michaela, your dad was just as good-hearted a guy when he was a kid as he was as an adult. He was a perfect Santa for our Jolin family Christmas party, as he was for so many others in town. Ron will always be one of my better memories of my childhood.

Ron lived down the street from me growing up and was our paper boy. Always had a smile and time to talk. He was a friend to everyone. Last I saw him he Drive the bus that took my students to Brady Hill Cemetery to put flags on veterans graves. He picked my field trip based on what we were doing but said it was an added bonus that I was the teacher. We hugged and talked while helping students. He talked with the students about what they were doing but also enjoyed sharing stories about my younger years with them. RIP Ronnie

I worked with Ron for many years at Hemlock. I remember how proud he was of his daughter. Quick with an update on how well she was doing. You could see him swell with pride. I remember him growing his beard every hear for Christmas so be could play Santa. He always told me where he was going to be at. He will surely be missed.

Cindy, Michaela, Denny & Jerry,
We are so sorry about Ronnie. Your family and ours have been a part of each other's lives for so many years. The early Christmas mornings when my Dad would go to your house
to watch you open presents because your Mom had to work that day, then your Dad coming to our house after your Mom went to work. Sitting in your parents or my parents
kitchen listening to Ronnie tell us what had happened or what was happening in his life
and laughing the whole time. He was always so funny. Ronnie was a Gift from GOD to
everyone he knew. His love an acceptance of everyone made him a Star in his own right.
Ronnie, we will miss you!
Sending all of you, more love than we can express.

Although I didn't know Ronald personally I send my condolences to the family. I grew up in Zilwaukee also but really didn't get to know too many in the greater Metiva family. My Dad wad Joseph V. and Mom was Clara W. Metiva---we lived at the corner of N. Franklin and Jones.
One of my regrets is that I didn't know more of the people on Dad's side of the family--
FYI: Tracy Metiva, Sarah Jane Schick and Carl Schick were my kids. Sarah shared the notice with me.
