Obituary of Nancy G. Bovill

Bovill, Nancy G. of Saginaw, Michigan, died peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Cartwright Hospice Residence, with family at her side. She was 85 years old. Nancy G. Brooks was born in March 1932 in Peterborough, Ontario, to the late Norman F. and Ruby G. (Sharpe) Brooks. She married William Shell Bovill in 1953. Bill preceded her in death after 49 years of marriage. Nancy and Bill lived in Saginaw for most of their married lives. Nancy was an active contributor to the local community. She served through her church, St. John's Episcopal, was a member of the Lawyer's Wives Association and the Junior League. She enjoyed reading, travel, tennis and bridge. As a child, she relished spending her summers at Chemong Lake, Ontario and later, in Northern Michigan with family and friends. Nancy was considered the "Queen Mother" and matriarch of her extended family who loved her very much. Nancy is survived by her family whom she loved very much, including her son, John Bovill, III; daughter, Beverley B. Bovill and fiance, Robert C. Scholten; three grandchildren: Spencer W. Brielmaier, Paige B. Brielmaier and Gennaveve B. Bovill; dear sister, Beverley G. Hamblin and husband, Peter A. Brieger; and five nieces and their families: Barbara J. Carakostas, Karen A. Longo, Susan J. Bassett, Cynthia J. Billings, and Christine L. Hamblin. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William R. Hamblin and nephew, Jeffrey W. Hamblin. FUNERAL: A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. The Rev. Curt Norman will officiate. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Family and friends will visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., as well as at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00.
