Obituary of Daniel A. Zamora

Zamora, Daniel Antonio "Danny" of Saginaw, Michigan Beloved brother, uncle and friend unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord and is now reunited with his parents and brother; he was 63 years old. Daniel Antonio Zamora and his twin brother David were born on January 10, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Eusebio M. and Trinidad (Urrutia) Zamora, Sr. Danny was a proud 1972 graduate of Saginaw High School. Follow graduation, he attended Delta College and obtained an Associate's Degree. While in high school, Danny began working for St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he humbly served all the capuchin priests. He also worked for Taco Villa. Danny later began working on the production line at Saginaw Steering Gear; retiring with almost 30 years of service. Danny was faithful, dedicated and devoted to the Catholic Faith. He was a lifelong parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he received his baptism and all other sacraments. Danny also volunteered as a sacristan and as an usher within the church. Danny was a member of the UAW Local 699, Knights of Columbus Council #12684 and was a Cursillista. He truly loved and cherished all animals, especially his cats: Ralph, Oscar, Princess, Pippens and many more. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and was an avid reader. He will forever be remembered for his intelligence, his selflessness to anyone in need and for his one line phrases "Three hour tour." Surviving are four brother and one sister: Sam Zamora and his fiancée, Llolanda Teneyuque of Saginaw, Jesus (Sherry) Zamora of Saginaw, Marta (Junior) Guzman of Saginaw, Guadalupe (Mary) Zamora of Clio, and his twin brother, David (Irma) Zamora of Tuscon, AZ; one sister-in-law, Sally Zamora of Houghton Lake; 20 nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jeanie (Wayne) Twarozynski of Hemlock. Also surviving are many beloved friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother John Zamora. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 N. Sixth Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m, Thursday evening. Danny will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Friends of the Saginaw County Animal Shelter.
