Obituary of Joan P. Dunn

DUNN, Joan P. of Thomas Twp., MI passed away peacefully Monday, January 1, 2018 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. She was 84 years old. Joan P. Weber was born March 26, 1933 in Saginaw, MI to the late W. Frederick and Bertha (Laux) Weber. Joan met the love of her life at the Brockway Roller Skating Rink, and married Melvin Jerald Dunn on September 22, 1951. He passed away on November 29, 2017. Joan was the office manager for Arrow Paper Products for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved to play cards, dance and socialize with family and friends. She also enjoyed lunches with high school friends and made many memories that will forever be cherished. Her kind and generous spirit will be deeply missed by her three children: Katherine (Jeff) Lamphier, David (Roxanne) Dunn and Gary Dunn; six grandchildren: Eric (Theresa) Dunn, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Courtney) Dunn, Jeremy (Meredith) Dunn, Jessica Butler, David A. Dunn and Elizabeth Lamphier; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Reha Miller, Elizabeth (Robert) Keefer and Diann (Tom) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Dunn and Marilyn Winterstein. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin "Jerry" Dunn; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Richard) Burke, brothers-in-law: Walt Miller, Bernard Winterstein, Charles and Roger Dunn; two sisters-in-law: Audrey (Martin) Mikulewicz and Winifred Ayrton. FUNERAL: Joan's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Rd. Rev. Paul Biber will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Joan will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
