Obituary of Carolyn Terese Wilson

Wilson, Carolyn T. of Freeland, Michigan Beloved wife, mother and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was 73 years old. Carolyn Terese Symons was born on July 11, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the Mark E. and Helen C. (Liss) Symons. She was a proud 1962 graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, Carolyn attended Saginaw Business Institute. She married the love of her life, Duane Allan Wilson on November 19, 1966 in Saginaw at Redeemer Lutheran Church; he survives her. Carolyn worked as a cashier for Yankee Department Store and IGA in Bridgeport. Her favorite job was working as a Kawasaki parts clerk for Taubert's Cycle Sales. Carolyn enjoyed spending time doing needle point plastic canvas, bowling, crosswords and puzzles. She will forever be remembered for her loyalty toward her family and friends and her strong will and indomitable spirit. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Duane Allan Wilson of Freeland; a son, Ronald D. Wilson of Saginaw; a daughter, Corinne C. (Joseph) Confer of New Boston, Michigan; and a nephew, Paul A. Zielonka of Saginaw. Also surviving are many special friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Wilson; one sister and two brothers: Josie Zielonka, Marty Symons and Robert Symons. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Phillip DeVries will officiate. Burial will follow Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
