Obituary of Elaine Ann Witbrodt

Witbrodt, Elaine Ann Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was 85 years old. Elaine Ann Weitz was born on September 10, 1932 to the late Carl and Elsie (Fahnanstiel) Weitz. She was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Elaine was an employee of Wiechmann's Department Store, working in the children's department. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Brockway. Elaine loved animals, especially her dog, Sammy. She was an avid Detroit Pistons, Lion and Redwings fan. She enjoyed eating chocolate and anything sweet, especially from Mary's Creative Cakery. Above all, she loved and cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her sweetness, loving heart and her ability to be a progressive and accepting soul. She is survived by her daughters: Lori (Paul) Gerwin of Saginaw and Diane (Witbrodt) Glasgow of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Sarah (Ben) Launstein of Saginaw, Josh Thomas of Camp Lejeune, NC, Holly (Josh) May of Saginaw, Kayla Gerwin of Saginaw, Zachary (Heather) Gerwin of Saginaw; nine great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ethan, Ella, Wesley, Emily, Lily, Harper, Aubrey and Oliva; one sister: Joan Livingston of Saginaw. Also surviving are many extended family members, friends and a very special hairdresser and friend, Patty Fries. Elaine was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one grandson: Carolyn Thomas and Jacob Gerwin. SERVICE: A memorial service for Elaine will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Sandra Kahn Cartwright Hospice Residence Fund and Amazing Grace Animal Rescue.
