Obituary of Roberta A. Cudney

Cudney, Roberta A. of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 4, 2017 with her family by her side. She was 90 years old. Roberta Antoinette Tasiemski was born on June 13, 1927 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Giles and Valeria (Garczyk) Tasiemski. She married the love of her life Robert Cudney, Sr.; he preceded her in death on October 28, 1983. She was a faithful member for 41 years at St. Mary Cathedral. She worked as a housekeeper for various cathedral priests and later at Boysville; retiring when she was 78 years old. Roberta was a kind, gentle and quiet soul had never had anything negative to say about anyone. She will forever be remembered for her selflessness for her family, stray pets or anyone in need of a place to stay.
Surviving are four sons and four daughters: David (Carolyn) Cudney of Auburn, Susan (Mark) Franz of Saginaw, Christine Quaal of Saginaw, Thomas (Carla) Cudney of Rock Hill, SC, Robert Cudney, Jr., of Saginaw, John Cudney of Saginaw, Ann (Scott) Mesler of Novi, and Kelly (Phil) Kasper of Novi; 14 grandchildren: Angela Sisk, Amy Kanouse, David Cudney, Jr., Niki Franz, Natalie Franz, Ryan Quaal, Lauren Quaal-LaMoria, Christopher Cudney, Josh Cudney, Rebecca Brodie, Amanda Cudney, Olivia Cudney, Emily Kasper and Andrew Spiegel; 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son and two daughters: Timothy Cudney, Mary Spiegel and Judith Jones; two sisters, Rosemary Martek and Bernadette Rosa.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 6115 Hoyt Ave. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Honoring Roberta's wishes cremation will follow.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Roberta will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
