Obituary of Ronald L. VanBocxlaer

VanBocxlaer, Ronald L. "Ron" of Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. He was 84 years old. Ronald LeRoy VanBocxlaer was born on February 20, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Louis and Gertrude (Stickel) VanBocxlaer. Ron was a graduate of Gladwin High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Upon his return, Ron began working for his parents at the Gladwin Oil Company. Ron married the love of his life, Loretta Mae Muir on September 10, 1960 in Beaverton, Michigan; she survives him. He worked as a mechanic for City Busline, Valley GMC and retiring with United Parcel Service after 25 years of service. He was a member of Local 486. Ron enjoyed camping, traveling, eating out and his train collection. Surviving are his wife, Loretta Mae VanBocxlaer of Saginaw; many special nieces and nephews; and his railroad friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Gertrude VanBocxlaer; and a sister, Jeanne Durham. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Brother Bob Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow at Midland Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
