Obituary of Kenneth Vincent McIntyre

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Vincent McIntyre, 94 years young, passed away peacefully September 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and was welcomed into heaven by his daughter Melissa. Ken, Kenny or "Mac" as he is known by his friends, was a loving husband, father and grandpa. Ken was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in 1940. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. Ken was a diehard U of M fan where he studied business and geology, but was generous enough to later send one of his daughters to his rival MSU. He was a member of the Pulaski Hall of Saginaw where he liked to treat his family to a perch dinner or share a cold beverage with his buddies. He was also a life time member of the Saginaw Fordney Club. Ken is perhaps best known in Saginaw for his role in the long time successful business Mooney's Rona Brand Ice Cream, Inc. Ken enjoyed golf and spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors, keeping his yard pristine and full of beautiful flowers and making sure his squirrels were fed. He is predeceased by one beloved sister Agnes and 5 beloved brothers Roland, Bernard, Floyd, Roddy and Lloyd. He is also predeceased by his dear eldest daughter Melissa. He has left many loved ones behind who will miss him terribly, his wife of 65 years, Shirley Neilson McIntyre, his daughter Tracy and son-in-law Ricardo Perez of Farmville, Virginia, his daughter Kimberly and son-in-law Mark Barrett of Orion, MI and five incredible grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Chelsea Gregory of Arlington Virginia, Alexander Ross of Charlottesville, Virginia, Haley Barrett of Orion, Michigan, Riley Barrett of Orion, Michigan and Caleb Barrett of Orion, Michigan. Along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Special thanks to his dear home caregivers Linda Mattson and Patty Samuels, we would have been lost without you! Thanks also to the hospital/hospice staff at Covenant Healthcare. Ken truly was the hardest working man we've ever known. Rest now Dad, your chores here are through. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate.
