Obituary of Scott Misenheimer

Please share a memory of Scott to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MISENHEIMER, Scott of Midland, Michigan, received his Last Alarm, calling him to a magical place where his sports teams actually win, people turn their blinkers off and all of the pulled pork (Memphis style) he can eat on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was 69 years old. Scott was born on February 3, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Ira W. Jr and Gloria (Endorf) Misenheimer. Scott proudly retired as a Captain from The Best Damn Fire Department in the World: City of Saginaw Fire Department in 2000. He was truly honored; as are we, to have them at his six. Surviving are his daughters, Sara Misenheimer and Rachel Misenheimer; son Justin Bigford, (his favorite child, we suspect) as well as wife, then ex-wife and still the everlasting, absolute love of his life, Sweet Sue Misenheimer. Also surviving him are his siblings: Ira Walter III (Mike), Mark, Pete and Candice Misenheimer, and Sally Culver as well as many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his parents. Scott was extremely passionate about cycling, reading and barbecue (all red meat, really). Furthermore, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions lose on Sundays, and being ridiculously stubborn yet still being a southern gentleman (not necessarily in that order). He also truly loved making people moderately to extremely uncomfortable with his "crinkled" sense of humor (his words, not ours). Scott despised vegetables, the color green and the Oakland Raiders (again, not necessarily in that order). We send our condolences to Coca-Cola as they have lost their finest customer. SERVICE: A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) in Saginaw, MI. Chaplain Bill Howard (the only clergy he ever really liked) will officiate. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: All are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home to tell us the stories about Scott that he never would. Visitation begins Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the AMAZING Saginaw Firefighters Local 102. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com
