Obituary of Hannah O'Toole

Passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, Michigan. She was 64 years old. Hannah Ryan Harden was born on September 14, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Robert and Mary (Tuhy) Harden. She married Peter D. O'Toole on July 26, 1974 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Saginaw. Hannah graduated from SS Peter & Paul High School in 1970. She was a devoted and talented teacher for 40 years, enriching the lives of thousands of children in the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools and Saginaw Public Schools districts. Upon retirement, she and Pete moved to Traverse City where she enjoyed the lakes, beaches and culture of Northern Michigan. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Peter D. O'Toole; two children and their spouses: Peter R. (Alexa) O'Toole and Katie (Jeffrey) Kastl; four granddaughters: Clara, Maeve, Sophie and Hannah; siblings: James (Paula) Harden, Margaret Rodriguez, Lori Harden, Betsy (James) Wilber, Paul (Melissa) Harden, and Dennis (Lynda) Harden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Harden; her brothers: Michael and Martin Harden; her brother-in-law: Evaristo Rodriguez; and dear family member, Betsy Kerns.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Fr. Richard A. Bokinskie will officiate.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Thursday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Hannah will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to Munson Hospice House (Traverse City). Please share your thoughts and memories with Hannah's family at the church, funeral home, or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
