Obituary of Maxcimino Cruz

Cruz, Maxcimino "Max" of Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Covenant - Cooper, with his family by his side. Maxcimino Cruz was born on December 28, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Victoriano and Marcelina (Coronado) Cruz. He was a proud 1961 graduate of Saginaw High School. He married the love of his life, Lidia A. Ramon on June 26, 1965 in Saginaw; she preceded him in death on July 23, 2009. He was a longtime employee of General Motors - Malleable Iron, retiring with over 40 years of service. Max was a faithful member of Beacon of Hope Church. He was also an active UAW member. Max enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting as well as spending time with his family. He enjoyed waking up early to workout at the YMCA and then grab coffee with his friends at McDonalds. Max was a selfless man and would do anything for family. He will forever be remembered for his hardworking nature, his care and compassion for his family and his kindness and generosity to all.
Surviving a daughter, Lisa (Raymond) Cuellar of Saginaw; a son, Michael Cruz of Ferndale; four grandchildren: Erik Gallery, Augustino Cuellar, Angelo Cuellar, and Julian Cuellar; three brothers and four sisters: Alfredo Velma, Santos D. (Alice) Cruz, J. Manuel Cruz, Ramona (Manuel) Cazares, Irene (Rudy) Garcia, Shirley Davis, and Margaret Benevidez. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Jesse Vargas Brown, Delphina Ornelas, Guadalupe Cruz, and Petra Cruz.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Rick Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorials Gardens.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer will be delivered at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Visitation will resume on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m.
