Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Medilodge of Frankenmuth. He was 87 years old. Ronald Perry Dutcher was born on July 11, 1929 in Sebewaing, MI to the late Perry and Elizabeth (Avery) Dutcher. He married Bonnie M. Horn on October 21, 1950 in Caseville, MI. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1998. After his marriage to Bonnie, Ron was drafted into the U.S. Army serving his country during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he started working for Consumers Energy, retiring in September of 1991. In March of 2003 Ron married Rhea Walden, she preceded him in death on April 18, 2016. He was a faithful member of State Street United Methodist Church. Ron truly enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his sons: Leslie (Marilyn Kubacki) Dutcher, Thomas (Jean) Dutcher and Edwin Dutcher; son-in-law, Steve Vallier; grandchildren: Todd Dutcher, Karen (Aaron) White, Perry (Elizabeth) Dutcher, Tony Dutcher, Ted Dutcher, Cameron and Jensen Dutcher, Gary and Maria Vallier; great grandchildren: Joscelin Dutcher, Molly Dutcher and Maizen White; sister, Zola Roeber; step-children: Kim (Meg), Rena (Dan), Gwen and Patti (Colin). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Bonnie and Rhea; daughter, Wendy Vallier; two sisters, Lawanda Gnagy and Jewel Swartzendruber; and brother, Frank Dutcher.
FUNERAL: A funeral service for Ron will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at State Street United Methodist Church, 3617 Mackinaw St, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Monique French will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Ronald will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
