Obituary of Margaret Ward

Ward, Margaret "Jackie" of Saginaw Township, passed away unexpectedly at her home, on April 1, 2017. She was 83 years old. Margaret Jacqueline Green was born on 1-2-34 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John and Margaret (Jones) Green. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph G. Ward on August 8, 1953 at St. Mary's Cathedral. After 37 years of marriage, Ralph preceded her in death on April 3, 1991. Jackie graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral in 1951. She worked at Pere Marquette Credit Union and the Country Loft. Jackie volunteered for over 25 years preparing income taxes for others. In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed sewing, puzzles, and reading. Jackie loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially traveling with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her four daughters and two sons: Susan (Michael) Callahan, Nancy (Kevin) Waier, Joseph (Marie) Ward, Ellen (Jim) Young, Larry (Tracy) Ward, and Molly (Jay) Patton; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Kathleen Baumann, Mary LeFevre and Michael (Candy) Green; three sisters-in-law: Janice (Bill) Kerns, Joan (Charles) Bumpus, and Mary (Kirk) Curtis; and two brothers-in-law: Terry (Phyllis) Ward and Russ Fisher. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her sister, Leslie Ann Schreiber and several other family members. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate.
