Obituary of Thomas F. Novak

Novak, Thomas F. of Saginaw Township, Michigan
Passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017, with his family by his side at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. He was 80 years old. Thomas F. Novak was born on October 26, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Anthony and Gertrude (Myczkowiak) Nowak. He married the love of his life, Barbara Jane Braim on April 27, 1957 in Saginaw; she survives him. Tom had been employed with Saginaw Metal Casting as a millwright for 45 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially wintering at their home in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. Above all, Tom loved and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his undying love for his family and his incredible quick wit.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Novak of Saginaw Township; three children: Lynne Ann (David) Plambeck of Saginaw, Thomas Anthony Novak of Saginaw Township, and David Charles (Kimberly) Novak of Westland, MI; eight grandchildren: Nicholas Novak, Stephen Novak, Alex Novak, T.J. Novak, Mallory (Patrick) Doyle, Caitlyn Plambeck, Rachel Plambeck, and Haley Novak; three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Natalee, and Matthew; one brother, James Michael Nowak; one sister-in-law, Judy (Alan) Young; and his best little buddy, Miggy. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his four siblings: Genevieve Lagalo, Royce Csutora, Betty Schabel, Raymond Novak,
FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Andrew LaFramboise will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday led by Pastoral Associate, Sharon Wahl. Tom will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
