Obituary of Guadalupe V. Cuevas

Cuevas, Guadalupe "Big Lupe" V., Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away at his home, with his family by his side on Sunday, January 15, 2017. He was 70 years old. Guadalupe V. Cuevas, Jr. was born on August 14, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Guadalupe A. and Maria (De La Lus Villabobos) Cuevas, Sr. He was employed as a laborer by Grey Iron, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Big Lupe was of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed playing pool, smoking cigars, as well as drinking a tequila with family and friends. Above all, he loved and cherished his family and friends. Surviving are five sons and two daughters: Guadalupe Pena, Kelly (Kevin) Norwood, Chris Cortez, Carlos L. Rivera, Jason M. Klich, Lupe Klich (Cuevas) and Nicole M. Cuevas; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his companion of 39 years, Dorothy R. Klich, and his beloved dog, Harley Davidson. He was preceded in death by a cousin, Maria C. Cuevas. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Lupe Klich.
