Dupuis, Paul D., Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2017, with his family by his side at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 82 years old. Paul D. Dupuis was born on August 6, 1934 in Carrollton, Michigan to the late Joseph and Marie (St. Mary) Dupuis. He was a proud 1953 graduate of St. Andrew High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. Upon his return he married his high school sweetheart, Audrey E. Robel on September 19, 1956; she preceded him in death on August 22, 1995. He later married Ellen P. Gay on May 18, 2001; she survives him. Paul was a member of the IBEW Local 557 and an electrician his entire life. He was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #4232. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing, especially with his family. He will forever be remembered for being a kind, gentle and selfless soul. Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Ellen P. Dupuis of Saginaw; five children: Paul D. (Patricia) Dupuis, Jr. of Hemlock, Michael D. (Lois) Dupuis of Fr. Myers, FL, Anthony D. (Mary) Dupuis of Beaverton, Daniel D. (Judie) Dupuis of Marco Island, FL, and Alicia E. (Keith) Mercier of Saginaw; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three step-children: Cathy M. Flynn of Cleveland, Raymond A. (Patrice) Gage of Brighton, and Linda M. (Scott) Krueger of Brighton; six step-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Corinne Wildau, Cecelia (Tom) Lapinsky, Connie (Tim) Sauve, and Louis (Carol) Dupuis. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Leota, Larry, Therese, and Gilbert. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living for all the love and care they provided. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Rite of Committal and Military Honors will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery under the auspices of the United States Navy and American Legion Post #439. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening. Paul will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
