Obituary of Pat M. Koepplinger

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away July 27, 2016 in Saginaw, Michigan surrounded by his family. He was 86 years old.
Pat Mortimore Koepplinger was born on April 2, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Louis and Winnifred (Mortimore) Koepplinger. He married Mary on February 23, 1980; she survives him.
Pat graduated from Arthur Hill High School and went on to earn his Pharmaceutical degree from Ferris State Institute. He then honorably served in the United States Army as a Sergeant and worked as a Medic. After his discharge from the military, he worked at several different neighborhood pharmacies and achieved his goal of owning his own business until his retirement in March 2014, after 62 years of service. After his retirement, he continued to serve his community by providing pharmaceutical services to the under privileged with the Community Prescription Support Program.
Pat and Mary were members of Peace Lutheran Church for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #439. In Pat's spare time, he enjoyed reading, history, and spending time at Lake Missaukee with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Mary; four sons and two daughters: Garth, Sue, Dave, Scott (Angi), Nick, Julie; nine grandchildren: Kevin, Holly, Justin, Kellyn, Christopher, Joshua, Taylor, Brittany, Lincoln; one great-granddaughter, Emma; and three sisters: Joann (Don), Mari (Richard), and Sharon (Jan).
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth White; and sister, Betty Lou.
FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave., Saginaw Michigan 48602. Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate. Immediately following the funeral at the church, military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Monday morning, Pat will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
