Obituary of Keith P. Walters

Walters, Keith Sr., of Curtisville, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 in Fairview, Michigan following a lengthy illness. He was 86 years old. Keith Paul Walters was born on December 18, 1929 in Midland, Michigan to the late George D. and Pearl (Allore) Walters. He married Dolores M. Soltysiak, on February 2, 1951; she preceded him in death after 58 years of marriage on April 30, 2009. Keith honorably served in the United States Army. After his discharge from the military, he worked at Eaton Manufacturing for over 30 years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Hale, Michigan and a past member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saginaw. He volunteered with the Knights of Columbus for their pancake breakfasts every month for many years. Keith loved living up north and shared the cabin with his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting; hobbies that he passed onto many of his children and grandchildren. Keith enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. Surviving are his four sons and one daughter: Joseph (Lori) Walters, Saginaw; Keith Jr., Saginaw; Darlene Walters, FL, Martin (Paula Rench) Walters, Chesaning, and Scott (Shari) Walters, Saginaw; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bonny Walters; three brothers: Dave, Frank, Lawrence "Cowboy" Walters; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Keith was preceded in death by three sons: Donald Walters, Russell Walters, and Rodney Walters and his wife, Pamela Walters; daughter-in-law, Debby Walters; three sisters: Yvonne Thompson, Delores Pabst, and Thelma Aspin; and two brothers: Gay Walters and George Walters. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Paula Rench for her help and care for Dad in the past few years. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Christ the Good Shepherd-St. Andrew site, 612 N Michigan Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Following Mass, military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Wednesday morning, Keith will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Private Rite of Committal of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
