Obituary of Robert F. Haguenauer

Beloved dad, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at HealthSource of Saginaw. He was 89 years old. Robert Haguenauer was born August 31, 1926 in Paris, France to the late Raymond H. and Suzanne (Block) Haguenauer. Robert was a Holocaust survivor, moving to the United States with his mother following World War II. Robert lived in New York, New Mexico and in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met the love of his life, Mary H. Winkle. They were united in marriage on June 6, 1952 and moved to Michigan. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2014. Robert worked in Muskegon for Continental Motor before relocating to Saginaw and working for Grey Iron Foundry as a wood pattern maker; retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed reading, watching television and history. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and compassion to all. Surviving are a daughter, Adrienne Haguenauer of Saginaw Township; one sister, Simone (Charles) Duvall of Albuquerque, NM; one niece, Vivian (Herb) Sutherland; one great nephew and one great niece: Kenney (Jessica) Sutherland and Suzanne (Dan) Purdy. Also surviving are many additional family members and friends. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Professor Leonard Meizlish will officiate with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
