Obituary of Connie Jean Merlone

Merlone, Connie J. of Saginaw, Michigan Went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at her home. She was 64 years old. Connie Jean Miller was born on May 27, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John and Lucille (Emerson) Miller. She married the love of her life, Dale Kenneth Merlone on March 27, 1971 at St. George Catholic Church; he survives her. Connie was a faithful Catholic throughout her life. She was employed for a few years at Malleable Iron, later working and retiring from Target as a customer service representative. Connie enjoyed shopping as well as taking trips to the casino. She also looked forward, every morning, to play the Price is Right Bingo on Facebook with her son. Being with family was important to Connie, especially cooking for the many family gatherings and holidays. Above all, she treasured and cherished her children, and was especially proud of, loved and devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie also enjoyed speaking on the phone and was blessed to speak to her best friend, Debbie Herzberg every day. She will forever be remembered for being a very giving woman, her incredible kindness, having a wonderful sense of humor, and for the special way she was able to communicate with family and friends. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Dale Merlone of Saginaw; two sons: Jason Merlone of Saginaw and Mark A. Merlone of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Jason Merlone II, Jonathan (Amanda) Merlone, Jessica (Ray) Nauman, and Avery Merlone; four great-grandchildren: Jonathan Merlone, Hayleigh Nauman, Carter Nauman, and Allie Mariah Nauman; five brothers and two sisters: Shirley Eberlein of Saginaw, Sharon Basalone of Saginaw, Terry (Mary) Miller of Florida, Dennis (Shirley) Miller of Bellaire, David (Marilyn) Miller of Mancelona, Tom (Rita) Miller of Saginaw, and Steve (Sandy) Miller of Sagniaw; best friend of 60 years, Debbie Herzberg of Carrollton. Also surviving are many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Merlone; a brother, John Miller; and a brother-in-law, Tony Basalone. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Andrew LaFramboise will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
