Obituary of Richard San Miguel

SAN MIGUEL, Richard of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home. He was 57 years old. Richard San Miguel was born on October 16, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Hijinio and Maria Luisa (Estrada) San Miguel. Richard graduated from high school; he then proudly served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work as a machine operator for General Motors. He enjoyed hunting and working out at the gym. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Hope (Ezekiel) Escamilla and Cindy San Miguel; five grandchildren: Ezekiel Jr., Stefan, Tristan, Malia, and Aleana; seven sisters and three brothers: Jeraldine (Mike) Litwicke, Oralia Zizumbo, Hijinio (Lucy) San Miguel, Maria (Mike) Curtain, Linda San Miguel, Paul San Miguel, Roberto San Miguel, Consha (David) Vasquez, Donna Martinez, and Rita Wheeler; mother of his children, Julia Perez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and their spouses: Edward (Dominga) San Miguel, Gabriel (Josie) San Miguel, Gilbert San Miguel, and Jess San Miguel. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., 48602. Rev. Fr. Andy Booms will officiate. Rite of Committal and military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and VFW Post #1859 will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Sunday evening, the family will gather for a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. On Monday morning, Richard will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Richard San Miguel Memorial Fund with checks made out to NLMSF with Richard San Miguel on the memo line.
