Obituary of Gladys M. Stahl

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Sparrow Health System in Lansing. She was 92 years old. Gladys Marie Kalkman was born on May 23, 1923 to the late August and Margaret (Keller) Kalkman. She was married to William A. Sweatland on October 25, 1941; he preceded her in death on March 17, 1945. Gladys then married Louis "Jack" Stahl on November 22, 1958 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and cats. She was a faithful member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Gladys will forever be remembered for her kindness, dedication and love for her family. Surviving are three sons: Dave Stahl and his husband, Chuck Snyder , Eric Stahl, and Keith Stahl and his wife, Linda; six grandchildren: Michele (Jerimy) Rittenhouse, Michael Stahl, Elizabeth (John) Bland, Damian, Stephen and Annika Stahl; and four great-grandchildren, Teagan, Emelia, Malakai, and Gwynevere. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Homer Mosley will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
