EBERLEIN, Norman R. of Hubbard Lake, formerly of Saginaw Twp. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at MidMichigan Hospital-Alpena. He was 88 years old. Norman Eberlein was born on December 18, 1927 to the late Ferdinand and Ella (Beyerlein) Eberlein. He married the love of his life, Norene Joan Griffor on July 25, 1953. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2011. Norm and Norene resided in Saginaw and raised their family there until moving to Hubbard Lake in 1986. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and he spoke fondly of his new Pastor. Norm loved living in the Hubbard Lake area where he enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and the out of doors. His greatest joy was being with his family and a fun trip to the casino with Roxy. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many. Norm's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Roxy's caregivers for their kindness to Norm and treating him as family. Left to treasure his memory are a daughter, Roxann Eberlein of Hubbard Lake; four grandchildren, Rachel (Daniel) Savage of Alpena, Nicole (Aristides) Chavez of Midland, MI, Michael Prentice of Saginaw, and Heidi (Charles) Zuiba of East Jordan, MI; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family who he all loved very much. He is also survived by his close friends, Doug and Joyce Hayka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norene; two sons, Norman Thomas Eberlein, who passed shortly after birth, and Gregory Mark Eberlein; a daughter, Renee Jane Prentice; father, Ferdinand Eberlein and mother, Ella Eberlein Price; four brothers and two sisters. FUNERAL: Norm's funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State). Rev. Joseph Llewellyn will officiate. Burial will follow in Blumfield Township Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6891 Nicholson Hill Rd., Hubbard Lake, MI 49747-9510 MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
