Obituary of D. Lorraine Paige

Paige, D. Lorraine of Saginaw, Michigan, Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Meadow View Manor with her family by her side. She was 101 years old. Dorothy Lorraine Paige was born on September 4, 1914 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Thompson) Berridge. She graduated from Saginaw General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1935. Upon graduation, Lorraine married Noel A. Paige on January 1, 1943; he preceded her in death on December 29, 1983. She worked as an Industrial Nurse for Saginaw Steering Gear; retiring in 1974. Lorraine was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was actively involved in the Women's Association, the Circle Four, and serving as a Deacon. She was also a member of the Saginaw Steering Gear Salaried Alumni Club, GM salaried Women's Club, Merry Wives of Saginaw, the Flint Travel Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved and cherished life, especially spending time at her cottage, volunteering, visiting with friends and above all spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons and their spouses: Donald A. (Kathy) Paige of Freeland, David N. (Kelly) Paige of Davison; four grandchildren: Heather (Kenneth) Rundell, Donald C. (Kari) Paige, Morgan (Jerry) Nowicki and Taylor Paige; and five great-grandchildren: Spencer Rundell, Macy Rundell, Kennady Paige, Carson Nowicki and Stella Nowicki. She was preceded in death by two sister: Lenore Winterstein and Margie Nielson. FUNERAL: A Private Funeral Service took place on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Ted McCulloch officiated. Entombment followed at Oakwood Mausoleum. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw or Saginaw General Hospital Nurses Alumni Memorial.
