Puszykowski, Leah Jesse of Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. She was 98 years old. Leah Jesse Baird was born on August 12, 1917 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Jesse and Agnes (Schweinshaupt) Baird. She married the love of her life, Andrew Puszykowski on January 31, 1942; he preceded her in death on September 19, 2000. Leah was a faithful and longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church. The church held a special place in Leah's heart and she volunteered wherever help was needed. In her later years, Leah joyfully served as a greeter. Leah and Andrew loved and cherished their family, especially their grandchildren. They took great pride in traveling both close and afar to as many of their grandchildren's sporting events as possible.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons: Carol O'Dette of Saginaw, Andrew (Karen) Puszykowski of Saginaw, Thomas (Lucille) Puszykowski of Saginaw, and Joanne Puszykowski and her husband, Larry Liptak of San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren: Christine (David) Langworthy, Brian O'Dette, Jeff Puszykowski, David Puszykowski, Kate Puszykowski, Jillian Puszykowski, Alex Puszykowski, and Andrea Liptak; four great-grandchildren: Hazen, Adam, Meghan, and Kate. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death two sisters: Ida Rose Engel and Harriet Salmer.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre and to Hospice Advantage for all their love and care.
