Grierson, Aileen T. Saginaw Twp., Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her home, blessed with the love and prayers of those that she loved and that loved her, and with family at her side. She was 87 years old. Aileen Tressa Zumer was born on July 12, 1928 to the late Frank and Mary (Purcell) Zumer in Merrill, Michigan. She married Wendell Wayne Grierson, the love of her life, on October 8, 1949 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Wendell has awaited Aileen's arrival in heaven since his passing on February 23, 2006. After 56 years of marriage, they are together again, forever in God's glory. Aileen's greatest joys were being a wife to Wendell, a mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a devoted member of the Blue Army. She prayed the rosary daily throughout her life, offering novenas for those in need of prayer. She was a strong soul from the depression era, grateful for her blessings. She had been a room-mother, den mother and campfire girl leader, a beautiful and polished hostess for Wendell's business gatherings, and an enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren's accomplishments. She was a talented seamstress, and a wonderful cook and baker, who made every holiday and family gathering special for her beloved granddaughters and family. Aileen is survived by two sons and one daughter, Mark and Melanie Grierson, Christopher and Terri Grierson and Kimberly and James Hayes, all of Saginaw; six wonderful granddaughters, who will miss her dearly, Katherine and Amanda Grierson, Mollie and Megan Grierson, and Kaitlan (Kevin) O'Grady and Fallon Hayes; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Vivian (Albert) Brady, Phyllis Grierson and Randolph (Jane Ann) Grierson; many loved nieces and nephews; special friends Julia Borak, Jack and Liz Visuri, and friends at Meijers, Kohls and Holy Spirit. Aileen, the youngest of nine children, is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all of her siblings and their spouses: Adella (Joseph) Telmos, Emily (Kenneth) Morey, Leona (Norman) Metiva, Violet (Arthur) Simpson, Frank Zumer, Edward (Eleanor) Zumer, Vincent (Marjorie) Zumer and Jerome (Rosemary) Zumer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Alexander and Shirley Grierson, Kenneth and Alice Grierson, Robert Grierson, and many of her loved nieces and nephews.
