Obituary of Gerald D. Weber

Weber, Gerald "Gerry" D. of Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Healthsource - Saginaw. He was 72 years old. Gerald Duane Weber was born on June 12, 1943 in Saginaw to the late Leonard J. and Edna (Liebrecht) Weber. He married his high school sweet heart, Susan Marie Tomforde on July 7, 1962 in Saginaw. Gerry was a longtime owner and operator of Gerry's Cars in Saginaw. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed betting on events with family and friends. Gerry loved his five dogs, especially taking them for walks around the neighborhood. He also enjoyed golfing. Above all, Gerry loved and cherished his family. He was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Susan M. Weber of Saginaw; two daughters: Wendy (Rick) Plum of Saginaw, and Michelle (Scott) Tanner of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Jessica and Jacob Rethman, Tyler and Tanner Plum, and Brooklyn and Wyatt Tanner; two brothers: Gene (Marty) Weber of TN, and Tom (Sara) Weber of Saginaw, two sisters-in-law: Jackie (Jerry Haeger of Traverse City, and Vicki (Ronald) Stemple of Saginaw; a cousin, Don (Jean) Lichon of Frankenmuth; and a special friend and neighbor, Ruthie Samara. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Rethman. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Robert Allman will officiate. Honoring Gerry's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Association or the Saginaw County Humane Society.
