Obituary of Thomas J Hamlin

Hamlin, Thomas J of Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 following a brief illness at Henry Ford Hospital. He was 64 years old. Thomas J Hamlin was born on October 28, 1951 in Saginaw to the late William Kenneth and Marjorie Alice (Herron) Hamlin. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1969. Upon graduation, Tom honorably served his country in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for CSX Railroad, retiring after 30 years of service. Tom was an avid sports enthusiast, cheering for his beloved Tigers and Lions. He took pride in working on the yard. Tom also enjoyed golfing and camping.
Surviving are four sons: Patrick Hamlin and his fiancée, Amy Gale of Freeland, Adam (Colette) Hamlin of Mt. Pleasant, Nicholas Hamlin of Norfolk, VA, and Seth Hamlin and his fiancée, Gigi Smith of Saginaw; three grandchildren: Hayden and Hannah Hamlin, and Audrina Smith; the mother of his children, Susan Mary Hamlin of Saginaw; three sisters and two brothers: Kay (Earl) McGregor, Ken (Alice) Hamlin, Bill Hamlin, Karen (Dick) Leslie, and Kathy (Tom) Taylor. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Hamlin.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Military honors will be rendered under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #22. Honoring Tom's wishes cremation will follow.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
