Obituary of Fred J. Blake

BLAKE, Frederick J. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, December 20, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital. He was 89 years old. Frederick John Blake was born on November 4, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John and Edna (Luplow) Blake. He married the former E. Marie Vlassis on August 18, 1951; she survives him. Fred was employed for many years at Scientific Brake & Equipment Company as a heavy duty truck mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Together, they raised two daughters: Sue (Randy) Thibodeau of Indiana and Connie (Bruce) Marciniak of Saginaw. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Lauren (Kyle) Oakes, Dan Thibodeau, Brian and Lindsay Marciniak; one great-grandson, Keegan Oakes; sister, Lorraine Rousseau of Saginaw; and many in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, George Klemish; three sisters: Arvilla, Marion, and Shirley; one brother, Robert; and other relatives. Honoring Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Cremated remains are entombed at Oakwood Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave., 48602. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
