Our beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. He was 83 years old. Thomas Gordon Westhoff was born in Saginaw on August 14, 1932 to the late Carl William and Madge Louise (Gordon) Westhoff. He married Barbara Bryce on June 12, 1954, she preceded him in death on October 21, 2015.
Tom was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary High School, he then continued his education at Central Michigan University, receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He worked for General Motors, St. Mary's Hospital, Midland Hospital and retired from Standish Community Hospital, as a hospital administrator. He loved the University of Michigan and watching them play football. Tom enjoyed many wonderful memories with his family at Killarney Beach, on the Saginaw Bay. He loved to be with his family, especially during the holidays, enjoying a good martini and cigar. Tom was a faithful member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption. Tom was a life-long learner and enjoyed continuing his education.
He is survived by his: son, Thomas G. (Kimberly) Westhoff, Jr., and Tom's children: Tom III, Wesley, Mary and Joseph; son, Steven (Lynn) Westhoff and their children: Natalie and Brenna; son, Mitchell (Crystelle) Westhoff and their son, Alexander; and daughter, Connie (Tony) Mancillas and their children, Nathaniel (Marissa) and Spencer (Lindsey). Tom is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; dear family friends: Jim and Jackie Sullivan and Leo Simmons.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife and uncle, Elmer (Ruth) Throne.
FUNERAL: According to Tom's wishes cremation has taken place and a funeral liturgy for him will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Andy Booms will officiate. Burial will be at St. Andrew Cemetery at a later date.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may make a donation to the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
