Obituary of Paul Vito Gianvecchio

Gianvecchio, Paul V. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 31, 2015 with his family by his side. He was 69 years old. Paul Vito Gianvecchio was born on August 5, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Paul Vito and Rose Theresa (Federico) Gianvecchio. He was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Upon graduation, Paul enlisted and honorably served his country with the United States Navy. Paul enjoyed playing his guitars, especially with is band The Tempest. He worked various positions for the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Above all, he loved and cherished his children, grandchildren and family.
Surviving are his significant other of 35 years, Carol Raabe of Saginaw; a daughter, Tina (Chris) Jones of St. Charles; a stepson, Chip (Sasha) Raabe of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Toni Sanburn of Saginaw; a brother, Rocky (Pat) Gianvecchio of Sandwich, IL; and a nephew, Jason Gianvecchio of Califonia; two special friend, John Kirchner of Rio Rancho, NM and Ron Eurick of Saginaw; Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Military honors will follow under the auspices of the United States Navy and American Legion Post #439. Honoring Paul's wishes cremation will follow with burial to take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Paul will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
