Dice, Ronald Paul of Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan. Ronald Paul Dice was born on May 2, 1948 in Manchester, Georgia to the late Alvin and Margie (Smith) Dice. Ron's family moved to Saginaw when he was 18 months old. He attended Bridgeport High School where he excelled as an athlete. While he played football, baseball, and basketball, baseball was always his favorite. Ron attended both Saginaw Valley State University and Lansing Community College, majoring in philosophy. He enlisted in the United States Army following graduation and served in a nuclear missile unit in Germany. Ron married the love of his life, Elizabeth Bennett Wainwright on October 8, 1977 in Saginaw. He was the founder and operator of Bugmeister (formerly Allied Pest Control) in Saginaw until his retirement. Ron taught himself to play the guitar while he was in the Army, and entertained family and friends at many campfires and gatherings. He also taught himself to paint with direction from Bill Alexander and produced many beautiful landscapes. Fishing was his true passion. Fishing trips with his brother-in-law were some of his favorite times. Ron taught his sons, grandsons, and nephews to fish and offered advice and equipment to all interested family members. Ron had a collection of fishing equipment to be envied. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. He will forever be remembered for being selfless, well spoken, charming and friendly to everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Betsy Dice of Saginaw; two sons: Michael Dice and his significant other, Amanda Hodder of Saginaw, and Steven (August) Dice of Bay City; two grandchildren: Jack Paul Dice and Joseph Stephen Dice; three step-grandchildren: Devon, Kevin, and Nichollas Keehn; one brother, Donald (Michelle) Dice of Bridgeport; and one aunt, Mary Sue (Gary) Machette of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
