Obituary of Raquel Angel Paramo

Please share a memory of Raquel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paramo, Raquel Angel of Saginaw, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on October 29, 2015. Raquel was born on October 18, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Mary Paramo Nerio and the late Cipriano DelaRosa. She was a Saginaw resident her entire life. She was proud to be the granddaughter of the late Francisco and Eulalia Paramo. Raquel belonged to the Guitar Group, Renew Group, Choir, and Befrienders Ministry, as well as actively participated in feeding the poor, all for her beloved church St. Mary's Cathedral. She was also a sponsor of the Christian Children's Fund, Boys Town, St Joseph's Indian School, and Saginaw City Rescue Mission for many years. Raquel always took time to listen and help others no matter the situation. She said her greatest gift from God was the ability to laugh and make others laugh. Raquel credited God for her compassion, generosity, and her heart of gold. Her greatest passion was to speak of God and tell others of Jesus. Raquel enjoyed reading, singing, playing the guitar, and watching little kids play. Raquel is home to join the angels that guided her and have been waiting for her. Raquel leaves behind to cherish her memory someone that was very special and could always depend on, who she will truly miss, Frances Paramo; a Goddaughter Nasaria "Boogie" who she raised and was her pride and joy; a dear sister, Yolanda Nerio; her loving brothers: John (Kathy) Ayala, Carlos DeLaRosa, James DeLaRosa, Rudolph Nerio, and Richard Nerio; a cousin, Kathy Marcoux who stayed with her throughout her illness; special nieces: Kim Garcia, Lanie Garcia, Sarina Olivarez, Dana Trafelet, Regina Simon, and Crispina Raquel Rodriguez; special nephews: Ron Nerio and Manuel Rodriguez; a Godson, Alberto Garcia. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and near and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Paramo Nerio and Cipriano DeLaRosa; grandparents: Francisco and Eulalia Paramo, Melinda Paramo; and a Godson, Tristan Aguilar. A special thanks to Dr.Miles Light and his staff whom she considered more than a physician but her friend. Raquel will be missed by all that knew her and remembered by all that have met her.
