Isquierdo, Manuel of Saginaw, Michigan, My beloved husband, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old. Manuel Isquierdo was born on June 17, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to the late step father, Luiz and Dolores (Aguirre) Zamudio. He married his beloved wife, Christine C. (Decker) Lown on November 24, 1983 at the Chapel of the Fountain in Las Vegas, Nevada; she survives him. Manuel proudly served his country in the United States Army attaining the rank of Corporal. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon w/1Bronze Battle Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was employed at General Motors Grey Iron for 45 years. He served as the Vice President for U.A.W. Local 668, retiring from General Motors as a supervisor in 1987. Manuel was a hard worker and took pride in receiving numerous perfect attendance certificates over the years at General Motors. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was very active with their fundraising ministry during the early years of raising the family. He enjoyed cooking for his family, playing Euchre, going to the casino, and traveling especially to visit family in Louisiana. Above all, Manuel loved and cherished spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Christine C. Isquierdo of Saginaw; Manuel's two daughters and three sons: Diane (John) Mulvaney of Midland, Manuel (Edith) Isquierdo of Arizona, Ed Isquierdo of Reese, Chris Isquierdo of Saginaw, and Delphine Marie (Rick) Coules of Fraser; 22 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren: John Brian (Olga) Caroline, Renee Mulvaney; Matt (Christine) Derek, Dylan, & Veronica Mulvaney, Elizabeth (Clint) Tyler Garcia: Christian (Heather-Wray) Chay, Ani Terese: Michael, Hannah, Samantha and Robert Isquierdo; Bridget (Todd) Grace & Ella Smith; Tina (Vic) Claire & Faith Breinager; Casie (Brent) Alyssa & Dahlia Pickle; Kelly, Sarah, Isaiah and Israel Isquierdo-Noah, Brandy Kenyon, Jazlina, Savonm & Valencia ; Jaclyn (Travis) Elicia, Emilano, Enrique & Ezekiel Allor, Erik (Sandee) Isabella, Cecilia & Elijia Coules; Carolyn (Nathan) Mikula; Kristyn (Michael) Thaddeus & Benjamin Schmitz, Lauryn and Trevor Coules; He also leaves behind three step-children: Michelle (Michael) Garvey of Bridgeport, Kenneth (Jodie) Lown of Louisana, and Donald (Tony) Lown of Saginaw; Six step-grandchildren & six-step great grandchildren: Sara (Justin) Michael & Justin Miller; Stacy (Jacob) Kaytlyn (Reyelts) Jacob & Emily Bain; Elizabeth Lown and Lindzie (Daniel) Hale & Lillian; & Mackenzie & Greyson Burkacki. Left to cherish his memory are two sisters and one brother: Christine (Zamudio) Rico, Carlos Zamudio, & Dolores (Zamudio) Brault, & many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, five brothers and one great granddaughter: Guadalupe Castanon, Maria Martinez, Jesse Isquierdo, Joe Isquierdo, Alfonso Zamudio, Mike Zamudio, Luis Zamudio, Jr., Rachel Medina, and baby Jaime Mikula. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate, along with Rev. Joseph Schabel concelebrating. Rite of Committal will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2015 promptly at 12:45 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, Michigan 48442. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (Off State) on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service beginning with the Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Manuel will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Christine C. Isquierdo or Damas of Joseph Catholic Church, or Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe - M.A.C.
