Obituary of Adele L. Brogger

BROGGER, Adele L. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Hidden Creek Adult Foster Care, Hartland, MI. She was 97 years old. Adele LaVerne Griffore was born on January 27, 1918 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Thomas and Tillie (DeCaire) Griffore. She married Anthony A. "Tony" Brogger on May 17, 1941; he preceded her in death on their 63rd anniversary, May 17, 2004. Adele graduated from St. Andrew's Catholic High School with the Class of 1936. She worked for the Saginaw News, writing for the society page and later, she was office manager for Glamour Inc. Further, she was often in plays at Pit & Balcony Theatre, volunteered for the PTO at St. Peter & Paul Catholic School, she taught Home Economics classes how to model their creations, and did the makeup for the high school plays. For St. Stephen Catholic Church, she taught second grade religious education and brought communion for the home-bound. Adele was also a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital gift shop. In her spare time, she was an avid golfer and a member at Maple Hill Golf Club. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Anthony P. (Mary), Missy (Tom) Finelli, Mary Beth (Stephen) Digsby, Thomas (Sandi), and Amy (Ron) Aldrich; 14 grandchildren: Heidi Brogger, Tony F. Brogger, Tom (Helen) Finelli, Chris (Niki) Finelli, Matt (Christina) Finelli, Addie (Joey) Iding, Melissa (Jerry) McGrain, Sarah (Mike) Ascherl, Martha (Shaun) Houck, Stephen (Katie) Digsby, Jenny (Steve) Foley, Hannah (Kyle) Sanderson, Alex Aldrich, and Lauren Aldrich; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolly Brogger; sister-in-law, Bonnie Griffore; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Adele was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony and nine brothers and sisters. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson Street, Freeland 48623. Rev. Fr. Robert Deland will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Friday night, a vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Adele will lie in state at the church Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time at Mass.
