Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gleesing, Donald Joseph "DJ", Formerly of Breckenridge and Saginaw, MI, died unexpectedly as the result of an accident on September 19, 2015 at the age of 30. DJ was born in Alma, MI on August 2, 1985 to Donald H. Gleesing and Linda S. (Harrison) Gleesing. He worked as a machinist for Moeller Precision Tool. He enjoyed nothing more than family traditions, being outdoors, attending sporting events, and spending time with family and friends. DJ was a devoted son, grandson, brother, and uncle. He was always the first to join the kids playing in the backyard and loved to make people laugh and smile, even if it was at his own expense. He had an amazing smile and contagious laugh to go with it. DJ had the ability to befriend anyone and to find the good in everyone he met. He was genuine, loyal, and spiritual. Although he was small, he had the biggest heart imaginable. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. DJ is survived by his parents: Donald H. Gleesing of St. Louis and Linda S. Gleesing of Saginaw; grandmothers: Marlyn Byron and Joyce Harrison; grandfather, Donald T. Gleesing; two sisters: Shannon (Brian) Gleesing Bonsall, and their children: Madeline and Georgia Bonsall and Megan (Kevin) Gleesing Little and their children: Kevin, Jeffery, and Hayden Little. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Lynne Gleesing; two grandfathers: George Harrison and Neil Byron. FUNERAL: A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI. Pastor Gary Lacy will officiate. Honoring DJ's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Children's Hospital of Michigan. The hospital is special to the family, as it is where DJ had open heart surgery when he was 14 years old. It is because of that facility that DJ was able to be with us as long as he was, and for that, the family wants to thank them. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
