Soto, Tai Saginaw, Michigan In loving memory of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend who passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison. She was 84 years old. Tai Sugana was born on March 6, 1931 in Sendai, Japan to the late Shinichi and Katsu (Ogawa) Sugana. She met her husband, Albert J. Soto, during the Korean War. They married on November 30, 1951 in Japan and then moved back to Michigan in 1952. Tai retired from Community Hospital Services after many years of service. Tai loved and devoted herself to her family. She always encouraged them to continue their education and dream big. Tai's loving spirit will always be present with her family. She will be deeply missed by her children: Maria Soto, Alex (Michelle) Soto, Cathy (Dan) Dennin and Richard (Rosa) Velasquez; grandchildren: Natalia, Crystal, Adam, Anthony, Meagan, Victoria, Joey, Adam, Hannah, Jacob, Axel and Allie; brother, Kazuo (Masako) Sugana; sister, Naoko (Norio) Kato. Tai was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Soto; her son, Arthur T. "Art" Soto; two brothers and a sister. According to Tai's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
