Gohm, Carl J. Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison with his family by his side. He was 88 years old. Carl John Gohm, Jr. was born on July 6, 1927 to the late Carl J. Sr. and Katherine A. (Ott) Gohm. He was a proud 1945 graduate of SS. Peter & Paul High School. Immediately following graduation, Carl honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War. He married Rosemary Bailey on June 17, 1950 in Saginaw; she survives him. Carl was an owner of Gohm Plumbing and Heating until his retirement in 1990. He was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church (St. Dominic Parish). Carl was also involved in many professional and service organizations throughout the community. He was a gifted woodworker. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. Surviving are his beloved wife, Rosemary Gohm of Saginaw; four daughters and one son: Cheryl (Terry) Davidson of Washington D.C., Diane (Thomas) Seidel of Saginaw, Mary (Douglas) Fitch of East Tawas, Elizabeth (Bruce) Raabe of Saginaw, and Thomas Gohm and his wife, Susan Stoick of Alanson; 10 grandchildren and their spouses; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Robert Gohm, Fred Gohm and Marilyn Bell. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Robert Gohm will officiate. Rite of Committal and Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Navy and VFW Post #1859 will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service led by Pastoral Associate Sharon Wahl will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. Carl will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Dominic Parish, the Saginaw YMCA or Nouvel Catholic Central.
