Obituary of Mary Arciniega

ARCINIEGA, Mary of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. She was 79 years old. Mary Cardona was born on June 17, 1936 in Saginaw, MI to the late Juan Macias and Isabel (Chavez) Cardona. She married George Arciniega on August 30, 1958; he survives her. Mary graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1954. She worked for Montgomery Ward's for 25 years and then for South Colony for 10 years. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed volunteering, golfing, and the casino. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, George; four sons and one daughter: Gregory Louis Arciniega, Robert Jacob (Cheri) Arciniega, Thomas George (Consuelo "Chelo") Arciniega, Kristine Abbie (Jack) Mendoza, and Andrew David (Sue) Arciniega; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother: Abigail (Manuel, deceased) Chavez and Daniel (Gloria) Cardona; sisters-in-law, Julie Cardona, Margaret (George) Soria, Mary Lou Morris, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister: John Cardona, Rebecca Cervantes, Joseph Cardona, and Rachel Cardona. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Entombment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
