Obituary of Angel F. Hernandez

Hernandez, Angel F. of Saginaw, Michigan (Formerly of Corpus Christi, Texas)
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle went to be with our Lord Jesus on June 10, 2015. He was 79 years old. Angel was born July 1, 1935 in Kingsville, Texas to the late Antonio and Angela Hernandez. Angel proudly served with the U.S. Merchant Mariner's from 1953 through 1970. Angel and his wife, Josephine Rodela were married in Corpus Christi, TX in 1969, moving to Saginaw, Michigan that same year. He was employed at the General Motors Grey Iron plant retiring in 1996. Angel enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and visiting family and friends in Texas. He enjoyed trips to the Soaring Eagle Casino and loved working around the house. Angel also enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboy football. He spent every morning hanging out with his General Motors retired friends at McDonalds.
Angel is survived by his wife of 46 years, Josephine (Rodela) Hernandez; son, Michael Angel (Stacey Marie) Hernandez; daughter, Belinda Marie Hernandez; granddaughter, Krystal Marie Hernandez, grandson, Marco Jesse Broome-Hernandez; and several nieces and nephews. Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Angela; his brothers: Alejandro (Estella) Hernandez and Albaro Hernandez, sisters: Argentina (Zenon) Hernandez and Alicia Hernandez.
The Hernandez family would like to express their special thanks to Angel's long time family physician, Dr. Karu of Saginaw, and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Medical Care Saginaw.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Angel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Rev. Fr. Andy Booms will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military honors conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #439.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Everyone is welcome to gather with the family at 7:00 p.m. Sunday for a scripture service at the funeral home. Angel will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
