Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015 at HealthSource Saginaw. He was 86 years old. Francis John Harden was born on September 6, 1928 to the late Robert and Louise (Grace) Harden. Jack proudly served his country with the US Army in Germany, he then was a member of American Legion Post #439. Jack started in 1953 working for his father at the Harden Agency learning the family business. He then continued to work within the insurance industry in the Saginaw community for many years, retiring in 2009. Jack was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and also held a membership with the Pulaski Club, and past president of the Sierra Club. His greatest joys came from spending time with his family and friends and playing a good game of golf at the Germania Club.
Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: John (Sandy) Harden, David Harden, and Ann (Mike) Ellis; grandchildren: Ryan (Becki) Harden, Adam and Alexandra Harden, Sarah Harden, Drew, Brooke and Jacob Ellis; great grandchildren, Ryan II, Cole and Ian Harden; siblings: Ann (Don) Berlin, Mike (Carla) Harden, Thomas (Barb) Harden; many extended family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sara Harden; siblings: Robert Harden, Richard Harden, Patrice Deisler, Patrick Harden and Jean Dooley.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a Vigil Service will also be held on Tuesday evening. Jack will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
