Obituary of Vincent D. Faletti

Vincent D. Faletti of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence with his niece, Nancy Kincade, by his side. He was 98 years old.
Vincent Donald Faletti was born on December 29, 1916 in Mohawk, Michigan to the late Cecelia Marie (Enrietti) and Biaggio (Joe) Faletti. He attended Saginaw High School and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago. Vince married Violet Schultz on April 1, 1949; she preceded him in death on May 7, 1997.
Vince served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He used his creative talents to enhance war maps in Normandy during the war. He sent his war-time cartoons to Saginaw, and worked on the "Saga of Saginaw" at the end of the war. His works were published in various national magazines including, The New Yorker, The Saturday Evening Post, Collier's, American Redbook, Ladies' Home Journal, Better Homes and Gardens, and others. He spent 20 years working as a leader in the Art Department of the Office of Civil Defense and is listed in the Library of Congress Who's Who for American Art. Vince was an avid fly fisherman and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Saginaw Township.
Surviving besides his niece, Nancy Kincade are two sisters-in-law: Deloris Faletti of Wisconsin and Marjorie (Schultz) Leister of Winston-Salem, NC; four nieces: Joy (Faletti) Misener (Fred), Doreen Faletti, Denise (Faletti) Constantini, and Judy Palmer of Oregon; three nephews: Michael Radziewicz, Mark Radziewicz, and Michael Schuster; and several cousins, grand-nieces and nephews.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Faletti; three sisters: Madalyn (Faletti) Fjerstad-Shay, Rose (Faletti) Worthington, and Marie (Faletti) Radziewicz-Schuster; and two brothers: Frank Faletti (Mary) and Joseph Faletti (Deloris).
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Military Honors rendered by the Michigan Army National Guard will immediately follow Mass. Rite of Committal will conclude at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
