Obituary of Rosemary Virginia Kopanek

Kopanek, Rosemary Virginia of Saginaw, Michigan Our loving mother and best friend joined her husband of fifty years, Henry, in Heaven on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence with her loving family by her side. She was 85 years old. Rosemary Virginia La Brash was born on April 27, 1929 in Detroit, raised in Grayling. Following high school graduation she attended St. Mary's Nursing School. She married the love of her life, Henry J. Kopanek on September 22, 1950 in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on January 4, 2001. She enjoyed chair caning and loved weaving. Rosemary enriched our lives in so many ways and her memory lives on in our hearts forever. Surviving are three daughters: Mary Ann Hall (Daniel Smalley) of Sebastian, FL; Betty Lou Stolte (John Wessely) of Saginaw, Sharon Kay (David) Knight of Hemlock; six grandchildren: Kathleen (Alan) Miller, Jerry Stolte, Joseph Stolte, Greg Knight (Elizabeth Cadrain), Beth (Will) Barnhart, and Tyler Knight; two great-grandchildren: Ethan Miller and Autumn Stolte; one brother, Edward (Goldie) Pratt of Gladwin; and one sister, Dorothy Wheeler of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy C. Japcinski; and three sisters. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Union Court Assisted Living in St. Charles and the Cartwright Hospice Residence. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Angels Among Us, 305 N.
