Joanne L. Foley of Saginaw and Roscommon, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper, with her family by her side. She was 82 years old. Joanne Lillian Griffith was born on January 27, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Owen and Christine (Melzo) Griffith. She married John S. Foley on May 30, 1953; he preceded her in death on December 13, 1993. Joanne attended Saginaw High School. Later, she worked first for Michigan Church Supply, then Wanners Flower Shop, and then was a para-professional for Bay Arenac Skills Center teaching Horticulture. She attended worship at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Joanne attended the Al-Anon Program and was a sponsor for the Alateen Program. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, gardening, bowling, and crafts in general. Joanne enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters and one son: Joyce (Don) Mead, Christine Brennan and partner, Janice Timm, and Daniel (Michelle) Foley; six grandchildren: Alisa (Terry), Candice (Eric), Jessica (Timm), Patrick, Brandon (Jeanna), and Amanda; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Bruce (Pat) Griffith, Lou (Abe) Awad, and Linda (BG) Drake; dear brother-in-law and friend, Richard Foley; cat, Patches; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 41 years, John; two brothers: Richard and Donald Griffith; and sister, Lois Wick. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Rite of Committal will take place at a later date in Pioneer Cemetery, South Branch, Michigan. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Joanne will lie in state at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
