Obituary of Myra P. Douglas

Myra P. Douglas of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. She was 99 years old. Myra P. Douglas was born on December 21, 1915 in Freeland, Michigan to the late Herman and LuLu (King) Moldenhauer. She attended Freeland Schools as a youngster and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1934. She married Lawrence S. Douglas in 1935 and they were married for 39 years until he preceded her in death in 1974. Myra raised three children, Sally A. (James) Coan, Sally preceded her in death in 1990 and Jim preceded her in death in 1986. Myra has a son, Larry R. Douglas and a daughter, Carol J. (Richard) Downer. Besides raising her family, Myra was a seamstress off and on throughout her life and also a caregiver to her brother, Vern Moldenhauer. Myra was a very much loved grandma to Jerry (Lisa) Coan, Lori (Raymond) Hayes, Kimberly (Chad) Organ, Brian Douglas, Jill Zariske and Susan Suchomel. And a very loving great grandmother to Taylor Organ, Jeremy, Laura and Sarah Coan, Heather and Nicole Hayes, Jenna Zariske and Christina and Matthew Suchomel. Myra was a Charter member of Countryside Trinity Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Vern, Ernest, Harold and Earl Moldenhauer, and her sisters: Marguerite Hofmeister and Myrtle White. Myra also has a surviving niece, Barbara Carter and Nephews: Ronald (Jo Ann) Moldenhauer, Robert Moldenhauer, Harold (Carole) Moldenhauer, Jr., and Gary (Rose) Moldenhauer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at the Hoyt facility, as well as the much loved caregivers she had at home, Bev Wright, Marlene Helman and Pat Wolfgang.
FUNERAL: Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, January 12, 2014 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Kenneth R. Parker will officiate with entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre or Countryside Trinity Church. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
